Here is the SSL solution we are using in Drupal:

<script type="text/javascript">
var pkBaseURL = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://piwik.org/demo" : "http://piwik.org/demo");
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + pkBaseURL + "/piwik.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
piwik_action_name = document.title;
piwik_site_id = "1";
piwik_url = pkBaseURL + "/piwik.php";
piwik_log(piwik_action_name, piwik_site_id, piwik_url);
</script>

Just don't use http: or https:

<script src="//statsserver.example.com/piwik/piwik.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

This is tooo expensive load. My above example is a perfect solution.
