I suppose this is a feature request. Using Piwik iOS app it is currently not possible to access a Piwik installation running on a server that requires a username/password to be entered. For example, if Piwik is in a <Directory>, <Location>, or has a .htaccess with something along the lines of: AuthBasic, Require User xxx and so on, the iOS app simply returns an error "Please verify settings" instead of providing an additional level of password/username entry.

This could be solved in a way that is similar to that of the iOS app for Wordpress, which takes two sets of usernames and passwords: the ones the web server may require and the actual Wordpress admin user name and password.

Naturally, this should work with HTTPS, not just HTTP.

Many thanks for great work, I am new to Piwik but very impressed at this stage. I apologise if this request had been recorded before, but I could not find it.

Thanks for the suggestion. This sounds like an edge case so wont fix unless of course a patch is offered. Thanks!

I'm guessing no fix is actually required if rafal uses the HttpAuthLogin plugin.
